Your questions & our answers

Here, you will find the most important information on our visitors’ frequently asked questions about our services – sorted by keyword, in alphabetical order.

Dogs and other animals may only accompany visitors to the castle moat and inner courtyard, with the exception of guide dogs for the blind and assistance dogs; these are also admitted to the museum as long as the museum rules are followed. Dogs must be kept under control in line with regulations and place such that all entrances and exits can be used without hindrance.

Audio guides for our permanent and special exhibitions are available in German. We ask for a 5-euro deposit for our high-quality devices.

Our museum is fully accessible. For people with physical disabilities, the lift and stairlift provide step-free access to all exhibitions and the cloakroom and toilet areas. A wheelchair is available at the museum ticket desk.

For the safekeeping of your items of clothing and bags, cloakrooms and lockers are available in the museum basement during all opening hours. They can be used free of charge; one- or two-euro coins are required to work the lockers. Bulky items of all kinds must be handed in, such as umbrellas, rucksacks and bags larger than DIN A4 (20 x 30 cm). No liability is assumed for the cloakroom and the contents of the lockers.

We always have an open ear for your ideas, requests, suggestions and, of course, praise. Let us know what you think in our guest book at the museum entrance, or by sending an e-mail to this address:
